The mobile network name in the UAE has been changed yet again in cohesion with a worldwide event.
The name has been changed to 'Earth Hour-Etisalat, in solidarity with the global event.
Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) will turn off at least 1,433 streetlights along Business St., Al Saada St., Boulevard St. (Burj Khalifa) and Al Mamzar Beach Street from 8.30pm until 9.30 on Saturday (March 30) in harmony with the Earth Hour.

This year's event is held under the theme "Connect2Earth" under the auspices of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy and in conjunction with the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa). The RTA says that celebrating the event is part of its keenness to play an active role in achieving sustainable development in Dubai, and raise the profile of the Emirate in environmental sustainability and energy saving.
The movement, which started as a symbolic lights-out initiative in Sydney in 2007, has become the world's largest grassroots movement for the environment, inspiring millions of people to take action in combating climate change and protecting our only planet.
Last year, 188 countries around the world took part in Earth Hour, with lights switched off in around 18,000 landmarks and monuments - from Burj Khalifa, the world's tallest tower, to the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi; Eiffel Tower in Paris; Sydney Opera House; Big Ben in London; Tokyo Sky Tree; New York's Empire State Building, the Giza Pyramids; and Christ the Redeemer in Rio de Janeiro.
