Rain has been reported falling over several areas of the UAE over the past few hours.
Al Hamim, Hatta, Nahel-Al Ain Road, Musaffah areas, as well as the Ahafrah and Kalba areas saw light showers.
The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) said there will be cloudy skies on Friday and Saturday, with rain expected over the northern emirates and in the west over the weekend.
"On Friday, the weather will be partly cloudy in general. The amount of clouds will increase over some areas with a chance of convective clouds formation accompanied with rainfall over coasts, northern and western areas," said an official from NCM.
There will be moderate to fresh winds at times, especially over the sea and exposed areas causing blowing dust at times.
NCM posted a video about rain over Sheikh Khalifa street.
Abu Dhabi also witnessed light rainfall on Friday morning.
"Winds will reach up to 40kph on the coast and 32kph in the interior, blowing sand and reducing visibility in some areas," said the forecaters.
The temperatures will reach up to 29°C on the coast with lows down to 17°C. In the interior, it could reach up to 33°C with lows of 13°C. Humidity will reach up to 90 per cent on the coast and 85 per cent in the interior.
The seas will be rough in the Arabian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman, especially with cloud activity, throughout the weekend.
The weathermen had reported moderate rain over Al Sila and Al Ruwais on Thursday morning. The day was partly cloudy in general and the amount of clouds increased over some areas with convective clouds formation accompanied with rainfall.
