As a huge fire engulfed Dubai Marina's Torch Tower, the world's fifth tallest residential building with 86 floors, late Thursday night, authorities rushed to the site to put out the blaze.
Dubai Civil Defence, Dubai Police and Dubai Municipality officials and teams immediately arrived at the site working all night to rescue building tenants and pets as well as cleaning up after the operation.
Even Dubai royalty was present in the area to supervise the challenging operation, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Dubai Ruler's son, His Highness Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum reached Marina late at night, where officials briefed him about the operation's progress.
Videos of the young prince, who was also present at the recent fire in Al Quoz, have gone viral on social media since last night.
The young Sheikh Mansoor can be seen arriving at the site dressed in casual clothes and wearing a cap - enquiring about the fire and rescue operations.
This is the second time Torch Tower is making headlines around the world, after it caught fire in February 2015 as well.
Members of the Maktoum family took to Instagram to repost the videos, lauding him for his hands-on approach during such incidents in the city:
Sheikh Maryam bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum acknowledged the Civil Defence and Dubai Police for their dedication:
Residents and families were evacuated from the building and given shelter in Princess Tower and three hotels.
The fire was extinguished by around 4am Friday morning, followed by a cooling operation.
Opened in 2011, the tower has 676 plush apartments overlooking the Dubai waterfront.
