 His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, took to Twitter to welcome students back to schools.

He referred to the new school year as "one full of hope and ambition". "Our students, who are the UAE's present and future, have our trust and support," he tweeted from his official handle, @MBZNews.
Referring to the Emirati School Model - a unified public school curriculum announced recently - he tweeted: "With the beginning of the school year, a new national educational vision begins. It's an integral part of our strategy for the future.
"We are entrusted with our children, whether as families, schools or society as a whole. We need to work together to make their lives better."
He also had a few words of advice for the students. "Our students! Acquire knowledge, turn reading into a habit and always strive for excellence and make it your motto in life."
Sheikh Mohamed referred to the important role played by teachers in nurturing young minds. "Teachers are a national treasure. They carry a noble message. We are proud of their pivotal role in building minds and refining spirits."
