Come June 2017, a brand new mega project will break ground in Dubai and will see the coming up of two new islands on both sides of the iconic Burj Al Arab by late 2020.
Dubbed, 'Marsa Al Arab', the new tourist destination will be music to any water baby's ears as it is set to add 2.2km of beach frontage to the popular Jumeirah area of the city.
The much-anticipated project launch was announced on Sunday by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
Spending a total of Dh6.3 billion, the new tourist destination will be built across four million square feet with one island dedicated to entertainment and family tourism, while the other will comprise of an exclusive luxury resort.
With an aim to elevate the family tourism proposition in Dubai; the new destination will provide supporting foundations to host Expo 2020 Dubai, as well as reinforce Jumeirah Group's leading position locally and globally.
What the project will also do is boost job creation and provide a range of opportunities for UAE Nationals in the tourism and hospitality sector.
