The civil defence teams, along with paramedics and national ambulance teams were immediately dispatched to the reported site.
"It was not an easy mission because of the rough site and poor visibility during night," said Brigadier Mohammed Abdullah Al Zaabi.
"The rescue mission took around 2.5 hours. The duo, who was in good condition, was escorted to the national ambulance for a medical check-up," he said.
Brig Al Zaabi said his teams are well-equipped and trained to handle any emergency situation under all conditions.
"The public is urged to be extra cautious while trekking and abide by the assigned route at rough mountainous areas.
"It is also important and even life-saving to carry all the means of communications to alert the police in case of an emergency.
"Should anyone want to go trekking, they need to inform their family about your place and it is also important to avoid trekking during hot weather."
The Ministry of Interior urged the public to adhere to public health and safety instructions.
"Stay home during the restricted period to remain safe."
