The UAE's leaders celebrated the first day of Eid Al Adha with the Emirates Mars Mission team on Friday.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, received the Hope probe team - including engineers and scientific, research, technical and administrative cadres working on the project - at Qasr Al Watan in Abu Dhabi, recognising their extraordinary achievement that marked a new chapter in the history of the UAE.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid and Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed congratulated the team for their extraordinary achievement, stressing that the project constitutes an ambitious push for the next 50 years.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid praised Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed for honouring the team. "I would like to thank my brother and friend Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed who added a new flavour to this Eid's celebrations, making it an occasion to celebrate the success of our dedicated hard-working Emiratis," he said.

"After every hard journey, there is a break. After every achievement, there is time to celebrate. Today is a day of joy over this great Emirati achievement, the Mars Hope Probe. Today is a day of celebration for the team and the people of the UAE. A day where we thank you for your efforts that continued for six years."

Sheikh Mohammed added: "To the mission team, I say a great journey has begun. The purpose of this journey is to make the UAE the best country in the world. I am very optimistic and positive about our future because, in the UAE, we do what we say and we say what we do."

Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed conveyed the greetings of the President, His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to the Emirates Mars Mission team on the occasion of Eid. "The successful launch of the Hope Probe is a cultural achievement, which mirrors the leadership of the UAE and its potential to enhance the role of Arabs in astronomy and space sectors."

He also paid tribute to Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, saying that the UAE Vice-President is a symbol of solid will and leadership that does not recognise the impossible and a constant source of inspiration for the UAE's youth.

"Today, as we honour this team of the finest youth of the country, we remember the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who always said that our true wealth is in humans. Our youth has proven that they are the most important and most valuable asset, and our source of strength," Sheikh Mohamed added.

He told the team: "We are proud of you, because you are an honourable model for Emirati youth that we want to be the best, most knowledgeable, developed and qualified. You have provided a positive image of the Emirati and Arab youth to the world and you and your brothers are our real and winning bet."

Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed pointed out that the successes achieved by the UAE space project and other development projects confirm that under the leadership of Sheikh Khalifa, the UAE is on the right path to achieving sustainable development. "The difficulties do not stop us, but rather the spirit of challenge motivates us to move forward."
