Officially opened the new Disease Prevention and Screening Centre (DPSC) in Al Marfa on Monday.

The new centre, located within Al Marfa Hospital in the Western Region, will provide medical screening services for visas to the community from 7am to 3pm from Sundays to Thursdays.

“The opening of the new centre in Al Marfa comes in line with SEHA’s directions to provide UAE nationals and residents in the emirate with easy access to the highest quality ambulatory healthcare services, and to facilitate the Al Marfa community’s access to visa screening services,” said Mohamad Hawas Al Sadid, AHS Chief Support Services Officer and DPSC Director.

“(Prior) to the opening of the new centre, residents of Al Marfa could only undergo visa medical screening at centres in Madinat Zayed, and Gheyathi. With this opening, the visa screening services are now at their doorsteps,” he added.

The AHS earlier had seven screening centres located across the emirate — Abu Dhabi, Mussafah, Al Ain, Madinat Zayed, Delma, Sela and Geyathi. The centres are specialised units offering communicable disease screening and prevention services.
