Keeping its tradition of trade-in of older handsets with its latest iterations, US technology giant Apple has announced the offer for its most expensive device, the iPhone X, to its UAE fans.
Apple is offering credit of up to Dh1,420 for exchanging older eligible handsets against the latest one, priced at Dh4,099 for 64GB and Dh4,729 for 256GB.
UAE residents can exchange iPhone 7 Plus for Dh1,420 and iPhone 7 for Dh1,240 provided the handset is in good condition and meets Apple's requirements.
Similarly, the iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone 6s, iPhone 6 Plus and iPhone 6 can get you a discount of Dh835, Dh720, Dh560 and Dh445, respectively.
Apple launched its latest device in the UAE on Friday, witnessing strong response from iPhone fans who had queued up at The Dubai Mall since Thursday afternoon to be the first to get their hands on the gadget.
Among other Apple's handsets, the iPhone SE and iPhone 5s can be traded in for Dh475 and Dh260, respectively, while the iPhone 5c and iPhone 5 will fetch Dh200. The discount goes to as low as Dh95.
However, Apple's didn't disclose the trade-in price against the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus.
The UAE telecom major etisalat has also launched the hot-selling iPhone X for Dh185 a month.
Based on Apple's figures, Statistica revealed that the iPhone X costs 65 per cent more than iPhone 8 Plus for repairing the screen and over 37 per cent for other damages.
If you are opting for AppleCare+ coverage, you need to pay Dh749 for up to two years of technical support and accidental damage coverage. This is Dh200 higher than what they charge for the iPhone 8.
