Four workers were injured after the roof of a warehouse in Dubai's Al Qouz industrial area collapsed on Monday. The collapse was triggered by an explosion in the warehouse, the police have said.
Two of the workers are recuperating in a hospital in a critical condition, the police said.
Major-General Khalil Ibrahim Al Mansouri, Assistant Commander-in-Chief of the Dubai Police for Criminal Investigation, said the police were notified about the incident at noon. A police helicopter, patrols and paramedics were dispatched to the site.
The police regulated traffic movement to allow the helicopter to land in an intersection near the site.
The two critically injured workers were airlifted to a hospital, where they are still stated to be in a critical condition. Prima facie, the police believe a technical fault in a warehouse equipment caused the explosion. Forensic officials have lifted evidence.
