The opening of Warner Brothers World Abu Dhabi in July will top the live entertainment programmes for this year's Abu Dhabi Summer Season (ADSS) fun.
The Department of Culture and Tourism-Abu Dhabi (DCT) on Monday said the fifth annual Abu Dhabi Summer Season will begin on June 21, with fireworks at the Corniche and a mega sale across shopping malls in the capital. The season will run till August 18.
The festival is set to attract visitors from the GCC and other nations, with family entertainment and promotions during the hot months.
Officials said the eagerly anticipated Warner Brothers theme park, which opens on July 25, will offer free entry for one family member on the purchase of a 4-member Family & Friends ticket.
The 1.65 million square feet park will bring together some of the world's most iconic characters and stories under one roof, through 29 rides and live entertainment. Families can revel in a make-believe world, where superheroes like Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman fight for justice and animated stars like Bugs Bunny, Wile E Coyote and Scooby Doo will come to life.
The Abu Dhabi Summer Season 2018 will also feature two offers specifically for the entertainment hub of Yas Island. A 'Family Summer Season Offer' will be available for purchase, giving families the opportunity to enjoy a special deal for a stay at a Yas Island hotel coupled with complimentary breakfast and entry to the theme park of their choice. The offer, which covers two adults and one child, also includes access to Yas Beach.
On June 15, there will also be a 5-minute firework display at 9pm, at the Corniche in Abu Dhabi and the Hazza bin Zayed stadium in Al Ain.
There will be seven family shows throughout the festival and a game show 'Unbox the Amazing', at 10 shopping malls available to shoppers who spend at least Dh250. Throughout the summer season, visitors and residents can also benefit from discounts of up to 80 per cent.
There will be up to 50 per cent discounts at over 50 hotels across Abu Dhabi.
