You thought dinosaurs belonged to the 'Lost world'? Come August 15, and you will see them roaring and roaming in the deserts of Dubai.
And not just dinosaurs. Avengers, Powerpuff Girls, and Spiderman -- If the likes of these give you an adrenaline rush, you are just a click away from a world of epic fun.
The first mega-themed entertainment park in Dubai, IMG Worlds Of Adventure, has set their early-bird tickets rolling today.
Local developer Ilyas and Mustafa Galadari Group said on Sunday that this new 1.5 million square-foot (139,355 square meter) indoor amusement park on the city's desert outskirts will open on August 15.
"We expect to break even in year one," said Mohamed Adnaan, IMG Group chief financial officer. "We see a lot of efficiencies in the way we designed this park from a costing standpoint, that's the reason we think we'll make money in year one."
The park is aiming to attract 4.5 million visitors in its first year of operation and will generate revenue of Dh1.5 billion to Dh1.7 billion, Adnaan said.
Visitor numbers are expected to increase by 6.5 per cent in the second year, he said.
IMG Worlds of Adventure will open in its entirety with the exception of the 12-screen Novo Cinema, which will open shortly thereafter. It will offer access to over 20 signature rides and attractions, including live shows and a 5D cinema experience.
