Abu Dhabi - Firefighters managed to save 211 boats and 23 jet skies in the area from catching alight.

A fire broke out on two boats and engulfed six others moored nearby at Abu Dhabi’s Marina Yacht Club. According to officials, the fire erupted at dawn on Monday and no casualties were reported.
Lt-General Shaikh Saif Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, was personally present at the site to supervise the emergency procedures and firefighting operations.

Firefighters managed to contain the fire from spreading. As many as 211 boats and 23 jet skies were saved from catching fire by the civil defence personnel. The General Commander of Civil Defence at the Ministry of Interior, Major-General Jassem Mohammed Al Marzouqi, called on yacht-owners to abide by public safety rules to avoid such incidents in the future.
Investigations are underway to determine the cause of the fire, Lt-Colonel Abdul Jalil Al Ansari, director-general of Abu Dhabi Civil Defence said.
