Calling all skateboarding fans. This new video will leave you salivating to try out Dubai's newest skate park, and you'll never guess where it is.
For four days in January, Aquaventure Waterpark at Atlantis, The Palm in Dubai was completely drained and taken over for a never before seen event by world class skateboarders from Red Bull. The crazy skateboarding footage was captured as the men nose-grinded, 360 flipped, dropped and ollied through the Middle East's best skate park.
"I never had the chance to skate a waterpark before," said 18-year-old Alex Sorgente to Khaleej Times .
"The slides were huge and it made for a challenging and fun skate. On some of the slides if you looked over the edge it was a long way to the bottom so that was kinda scary to get used to, if someone fell to they probably wouldn't survive," he said.
According to Daily Mail, Alex Sorgente of Italy, 19-year-old Jan Hoffmann of Germany and the United Arab Emirates, and 25-year-old Milton Martinez of Argentina, had full reign of Poseidon's Tower, which was drained of 100,000 liters of water and rises over 130ft above the waterpark.
While for Jan Hoffman of Germany and the United Arab Emirates, he enjoyed hitting speeds of 35 Kph. "The Aquconda was super fun because you could go really fast," he said.
To accomplish the transformation, the slides that branch off from the 130-foot Poseidon's Tower were drained of 100,000 litres of water.
Frequent visitor to Aquaventure Waterpark will be able to recognize 156-metres- tall "Zoomerango" and "Aquaconda" slides in the video.
Edu Munoz directed this once in a lifetime skate session on some of the world's biggest and most treacherous natural transitions, complete with seams, sprinklers, fallaways and many other number of heart-stoppers.
