Thunderstorm and rain of different intensity lashed various parts of Abu Dhabi region on Wednesday and more is expected till Sunday
Heavy to light rain fell over Abu Dhabi mainland, industrial area of Mussafah, suburbs, Al Ain in eastern region and Al Ruwais, Al Dhafra areas in western region, the National Center of Meteorology said.

Parts of Dubai, Sharjah and Ras Al Khaimah also received rain yesterday.
"It will be dusty, cloudy, with rainfall of different intensities over scattered areas and a chance of lightning and thunder," the NCM said in weather forecast for weekend.
 
Abu Dhabi Police urged motorists to drive safely. "Abu Dhabi Police call on motorists to exercise caution due to rainy conditions and to follow the changing speed limits displayed on electronic information boards."
Forecasters are predicting sweltering temperatures of up to 40 degrees in Abu Dhabi and Dubai.
It will be moderate, becoming rough at times in the Arabian Gulf and in the Sea of Oman.
