It is likely to be a fair to partly cloudy weather at times with low clouds appearing over northern and coastal areas on Friday, the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has said in its weather forecast.

Red and yellow alerts for fog in vast parts of Abu Dhabi and Dubai were issued by the weather authority. Take a look at the areas affected by fog in the early morning hours here:

Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has taken to X to advise motorists to drive slowly, use fog lights and indicators and keep a safe distance while driving.

Abu Dhabi Police also called on motorists to exercise caution due to reduced visibility during the fog.

After a night of heavy rainfall in several areas including Yas Island and Ramhan Island in Abu Dhabi and Al Salama in Um Al Quwain witnessed heavy rainfall on Thusrday, there is no mention of rainfall for today in NCM's bulletin.

The met further said that it will be humid by night and Saturday morning.

Expect light to moderate northeasterly to Northwesterly winds, freshening at times, with a speed of 10-25km/hour reaching 35 Km/hour.

The sea will be moderate to slight in the Arabian Gulf and slight in Oman Sea.
