An orange alert has been issued for fresh winds which will cause dust to blow and lead to a drop in horizontal visibility, according to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM).
The alert is issued from 4.55pm and will last until 8pm today.
Abu Dhabi Police have called on motorists to refrain from taking videos or using their phones while driving. Motorists were advised to be cautious amid the low visibility caused by high winds and dust.

The weather department has also issued a yellow alert for winds that will reach up to 45kmph, and rough sea over areas of the Arabian Gulf with wave height reaching up to seven feet at times until 8pm on Saturday, October 26.
Earlier, the NCM had forecast that winds will be light to moderate, and fresh especially over the sea causing blowing dust. The weather department had also forecast that sea will be moderate to rough in the Arabian Gulf and slight in the Oman Sea.
Earlier in the day, the weather department noted that UAE residents can expect rain to hit some eastern and western parts of the country on Friday as there is a chance of cloud formation, the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) said.
In a post on X, Abu Dhabi Police called on drivers to exercise caution due to the rainy weather and to follow the changing speed limits displayed on electronic information boards.

Storm Centre posted a video that showed heavy rains battering Dalma Island in Al Dhafra region at dawn.
Overall, skies are forecast to be partly cloudy in general and cloudy at times, and temperatures are set to decrease gradually. The weather will be humid by night and Saturday morning over some coastal and internal areas.
Humidity levels are expected to reach a low of 15 per cent in mountainous parts of the UAE and reach a high of 90 per cent in coastal areas.
Temperatures will drop to a low of 19°C in mountainous areas of the country and reach a high of 40°C in internal areas. They will hit a high of 37℃ in Abu Dhabi and Dubai.
