Red and yellow alerts of fog were issued by the UAE's National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) for Friday, warning motorists of low visibility.

Abu Dhabi Police took to X as well to alert drivers or reduced speed limits on some roads and urged them to exercise caution.

Areas that will be affected by fog formation are shown on the map as follows:

Overall, the weather will be fair to partly cloudy at times. Light to moderate winds will blow, freshening at times, with a speed of 10-25 reaching 35 kmph.

Temperatures will dip to a low of 6°C in mountainous areas. Abu Dhabi and Dubai will see a low of 17°C.

The mercury will rise to 24°C in internal areas; Abu Dhabi and Dubai will see highs of 26°C and 27°C, respectively.

It will be humid by night and Saturday morning with a probability of mist forming over western areas.

Conditions will be slight in the Arabian Gulf and Oman sea.
