It's going to be a damp and breezy Christmas for some residents with rains expected in parts of the UAE on Wednesday as per a forecast by the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM).
The NCM also issued red and yellow alerts for thick fog in many parts of the country. Residents have been warned of a drop in horizontal visibility until 9am on December 25.
The Abu Dhabi Police called on motorists to exercise caution due to reduced visibility during the fog. They are urged to follow changing speed limits displayed on electronic information boards. The authority also reduced the speed limit to 80km/hr on some roads in the Capital city.
The met also issued a yellow alert for rough conditions in the Oman Sea, with fresh winds reaching 40km/hr and wave height reaching 6ft until 2.30am on Thursday.
The weather will be partly cloudy to cloudy at times, particularly in eastern, northern, and coastal areas.
While some regions may experience rain, the weather will turn humid by night, continuing into Thursday morning, especially in certain internal areas.

The unstable weather conditions are expected to persist until Thursday due to the extension of a surface low-pressure system from the Southeast, according to NCM's earlier forecast. This will bring periodic rainfall to coastal areas, islands, and the northern and eastern regions, with skies generally remaining partly cloudy to cloudy.
Light to moderate winds, freshening at times, will blow across the country on Wednesday from the southwesterly to northwesterly directions. Winds will be gentle at speeds of 10-25 kmph, which may pick up and reach up to 40kmph.
Temperatures are expected to drop to a low of 6°C in mountainous parts of the country and reach a high of 28°C in internal areas.
