If you love poetry and music, there is a rare opportunity to spend the evening with a group of poets from across the world.
An annual poetry symposium, The Poetic Heart, is bringing together 12 poets from different nationalities, mature and young poets, at Emirates Institute of Banking and Financial Studies auditorium located at Dubai International Academic City today and tomorrow.
Each poet will present poems in their language and with translations to English and Arabic. Besides poetry recitation, there will be Emirati musical performances.
Today, the event is dedicated for mature poets like Dr Talal Al Junaibi, Nayef Al Herais, Dr Daisaku Ikeda, Wael Al Sayegh, Sheikha Khulood Al Mualla, Geetha Chhabra, Prof Kithaka Wa Mberia, Sajidah Al Mosawi, tomorrow will see budding school poets including special needs.
The Poetic Heart 2017 is open to public and will begin at 4.30 pm today. Tomorrow, the event will begin at 9 am and end with a musical performance by school band. The highlight of the day will be Italian poet paolo Ruffilli and Emirati poet Hassan Shehabeldin.
The Poetic Heart - Connecting Humanity in its sixth edition, has chosen tolerance as its theme. The annual poetry event believes in promoting peace, harmony and universal love through verses.
