The Ras Al Khaimah Criminal Court has sentenced an Arab woman to seven years in jail, to be followed by deportation, for trafficking 15,000 tramadol pills.
As per court records, the case dates back to March this year when the RAK Police were alerted by undercover sources about the convict.
The anti-narcotics department of the RAK Police put the convict under surveillance. She was arrested red-handed with the 15,000 tramadol pills.
The RAK Public Prosecution told the court that she was planning to sell the tablets to youngsters in the emirate.
In her plea, the woman claimed her brother was behind the trafficking of the drug pills. She said he asked her to deliver the package to one of his friends. She claimed she did not know what the package contained.
