Brig. Adel Al Suwaidi, director of Jebel Ali Police Station, said a 47-year-old worker committed suicide on Friday morning by cutting the arteries of one of his legs and then jumping off the third floor of a building. He fell on a mini bus and suffered severe injuries.

After receiving a report at 12.20am, a police patrol and an ambulance rushed to the location, and found the worker still alive. The ambulance took him to the Rashid Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries at 3am.
The police have started an investigation into the death, Brig Al Suwaidi said, adding that the reason of the suicide is yet to be found out.
After investigating the building, the police found that the man used a sharp tool to cut arteries of his leg in a bathroom in the second floor, and then jumped off the third floor of the building.
