Want protection from the sun's UV rays and smell 'delicious' at the same time - while you are out and about - in UAE's scorching heat? A popular fast food chain has just the product for you.
KFC's Extra CrispyT Sunscreen! Apparently, the Louisville based fast food giant gave away 3,000 bottles of sunscreen that it said smelled like fried chicken, the Daily Mail reported.
According to a statement on the Kentucky Fried Chicken website, this is how the product works:

'The sun gives us life. But if we're not careful it also gives us painful sunburns. That's why we made  Its SPF helps protect your skin while the real fried chicken scent leaves you smelling delicious! Harmful ultraviolet rays bounce off your skin while the lovely fragrance rays penetrate it to give you a healthy chicken aroma.'
Although the product smells like fried chicken, KFC warns against 'eating this product.'
So, why foray into the world of cosmetics?
The product is actually launched to create buzz for their Extra Crispy Chicken:
'The only skin that should be extra crispy this summer is on your fried chicken. The stunt is another way for KFC to promote its Extra Crispy fried chicken.'
In June, KFC hired actor George Hamilton to appear in commercials as Colonel Sanders, since the former is famous for his 'always on tan'.

However, the product has not received 'rave reviews':
According to Eater, 'Early testers report it smells more like urine or a baby's diaper than fried chicken.'
The sunscreen's odor was deemed 'absolutely revolting' by People.
KFC claims to be out of bottles a few hours after they appeared on its website. The company made headlines earlier this year for releasing two edible nail polishes called Original Recipe and Hot & Spicy.
