Clouds formed over the east on Saturday and is set to remain, although rain is predicted to fall mainly on the mountains.
An official at the National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS) said: “On Sunday, there is a slight chance of rain in the east. It will be hot again and partly cloudy. There might be slight rain over the mountains. Monday will have the same situation. It will be hot in the daytime with clouds forming in the afternoon over the east with a chance of light rain.”
Winds are expected to be light to moderate on Monday, which may blow up sand and reduce visibility in interior villages. Conditions are also set to remain hot over the next few days, with coastal daytime temperatures ranging between 36 to 44 degrees Celsius, and the interiors experiencing temperatures between 43 and 48 degree Celsius.
