For a second day, fog engulfed various parts of the UAE on Thursday morning, affecting horizontal visibility across the country.
According to the National Centre of Meteorology, fog formation started on Wednesday night and continued on Thursday morning. By 6am, fog affected visibility in parts of Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah.
In Abu Dhabi, the police urged motorists to be cautious while driving and reduced speed limits on major roads to 80kmph. Speed reduction is effective on Abu Dhabi – Dubai road ( Al Shahama – Ghantout), Sweihan road (Nahil - Zayed Military City), Al Ain - Dubai road (Al Fouah - Al Faqa), Maktoum Bin Rashid road (Ghantout - Al Samha) and Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Intl. road (Al Ghwaifat - Barakah Bridge) until the fog is over.
Fog engulfed Dubai International Airport, Jumeirah and Al Warqaa areas in Dubai while in Sharjah, scattered patches of fog were formed across the emirate.
