Overnight rains have caused flooding while early morning road accidents have brought traffic to a standstill on all major roads in Dubai and Sharjah.
A number of accidents have been reported on Shaikh Zayed Road heading towards Abu Dhabi due to over-speeding on slippery roads and not keeping a safe distance between cars, observed motorists stuck in traffic.
Major traffic snarls were also reported on Shaikh Zayed Road towards Abu Dhabi and Al Ittihad Road towards Dubai.
Dubai Police, on its Twitter account, has advised motorists to report any dangerous water pools on the roads on the number 8008888. The police also asked motorists to stop in a safe place until the vision is clear for them to drive.
According to NCMS, unstable weathers, rains and thunderstorm are likely to continue until tomorrow.
