Some parts of the UAE may experience light showers on the first day of 2021, according to the National Center of Meteorology (NCMS).
A chance of clouds formation might be associated with rainfall causing poor visibility at times over some part of the Eastern region from 10 am until 6pm on Friday.
The National Centre of Meteorology said Friday will be partly cloudy to cloudy at times in some western areas, sea and the island with a probability of light rains by noon. It also predicted fog or mist formation in the morning over some internal areas with reduced visibility.
Meanwhile, Abu Dhabi Police have called on motorists to exercise caution due to reduced visibility caused by a fog. The police urged motorists to follow changing speed limits displayed on electronic information boards.
The police posted the message in four languages— Arabic, English, Hindi and Malayalam — with #urgent.
The night will be humid and temperature is likely to increase gradually, the centre added.
There will be moderate Northeasterly to Northwesterly winds in general and freshening at times.
