Most parts of the country have been engulfed in the thick fog.
Speed limits back to normal
The Abu Dhabi Police had announced the reduction of speed limits on some major roads.
However, in the latest update, Abu Dhabi Police have now stated that speed limits on Abu Dhabi's external roads are back to normal.
The Abu Dhabi Police had announced speed limit reduction on major roads from and towards the Capital to 80kmph.
According to the police, the speed limits have been reduced to 80kmph on Shk. Khalifa Bin Zayed Intl. road (Al Mafraq - Al Ruwais); Maktoum Bin Rashid road Abu Dhabi – Dubai ( Al Mafraq – Al Shahama); Abu Dhabi - Al Ain road (Al Khaznah - Al Sad); and Sweihan road (Abu Dhabi - Zayed Military City).
The police called on motorists to exercise caution due to reduced visibility during the fog and to follow changing speed limits displayed on electronic information boards.
The penalty for not adhering to safe driving instructions during fog is Dh500 and four black points, according to the Federal Traffic Law.
