A musical is coming to town

Family leisure spot Al Qasba is bringing the smash hit musical 'Ariel' to its Masrah Al Qasba - Theatre for three days till July 13. This musical adaptation of the classic Hans Christian Anderson fairy tale The Little Mermaid is based on the Disney blockbuster - and its well-loved comical characters (hello, Flounder and Sebastian!) are sure to entertain. Catch shows on July 12 and 13, at 5pm and 8pm respectively. Tickets to the show are priced at Dh45, and available for purchase at www.platinumlist.net. Stay active this summer
Tourist and family destination The Flag Island is hosting several activities this summer. With women's run sessions and roller-skating available, children and adults alike will find an activity to match their interests. The women's run sessions are held every Tuesday, from 7.30-8.30pm till the end of September. Roller-skating for youngsters aged two to 15 will be available during weekends, from 5.30-6.30pm. Calling all creative thinkers!
As part of an Expo 2020 Dubai initiative, Art Jameel is inviting proposals for Sabeel 2020. UAE-based creatives, plus international practitioners with a strong connection to the UAE, are invited to submit designs for innovative drinking fountains, inspired by the spirit of the sabeel. Up to three winning designs will be selected, with a prize of Dh100,000 for each. The winning designs will be reproduced across the Expo 2020 district. Registration closes on August 31.
