I have some grey hairs even though I'm only 27. Please help me arrest my problem because I don't want to start colouring my hair at this age. My mother had started greying only when she was around 50, so it's obviously not a hereditary problem.

Thanks for your mail. My advice, too, is to not colour hair, especially with chemical dyes. Take a handful of curry leaves, and a cup of extra virgin coconut oil. Boil them together till the leaves become crisp and dark in colour. Leave this in a black pot overnight. Filter next day. Thrice a week, apply this oil (warmed) on your scalp. Leave either overnight or (at least) for two hours, then wash hair with a herbal shampoo. Hair will show a marked difference in a couple of months.
I suffer from dandruff and my scalp also itches. I look forward to your column every Friday; love all your treatments - they are so natural and easy to prepare. I was hoping you could suggest a treatment for me too.

I'm so blessed to have readers who appreciate my work! Organic apple cider vinegar is a mild conditioner that soothes the scalp. Mix 1 teaspoon of water with some vinegar and massage into scalp. After 10 minutes, rinse it off. Then take 1 teaspoon baking soda, mix with some water, and apply in each parting. After 10 minutes, rinse your scalp with a gentle scrub: this will dislodge the dandruff and cleanse your scalp. Both your problems will be resolved if this is done thrice a week. Drink 8 to 10 glasses of water every day.
My dad has severe pigmentation on his forehead. I apply yoghurt on it every day; it cleanses and cools his skin, but the pigmentation does not go. He is against using cosmetic skincare products on his skin. I'm hoping you can help!

I'm so pleased your dad believes in natural home remedies. Potato has bleaching properties. Grate raw potato; add a few drops of lemon juice and a pinch of turmeric to the pulp, and squeeze the juice out. Dip a cotton ball into it, and apply this on your dad's pigmented forehead. Leave on for an hour and rinse. For an overnight treatment: mix half-a-teaspoon aloe vera gel with a pinch of turmeric; apply on pigmented area, and leave overnight. Treatment should be done every day for quick results.
I am 17 years old and I have a painful blind pimple. My facial hair makes it worse because it really hurts. Please help me.

Tea tree oil is the best solution to disinfect and dry the pimple. Dab tea tree oil on the pimple several times a day and you will soon be relieved of this problem. Avoid hot and spicy food, and drink 10 to 12 glasses of water a day to calm your body.
I suffer from underarm pimples. Is there anything that I can do to clear them? I wax my underarms once a month, but when I get pimples I have to use hair removal cream which I don't like because of its smell. Kindly suggest a remedy.

Make ice cubes with water, lemon juice and a pinch of turmeric powder. Rub a cube twice or thrice a day on the entire underarm area and allow it to dry. Doing this several times a day will help treat this problem. Twice a week, apply a mask of baking soda mixed with a little water, and leave to dry; then, gently scrub off. Until your problem is resolved, avoid waxing your underarms.
