How do you typically start your day?

The first thing I do before I go to work is go on a 15-minute walk around my home. It's not about a workout session, but more about getting into the right frame of mind so that I can face a busy and long day. Once home, I have a healthy smoothie with my super handy Nutribullet superfood extractor and shower and get ready for the office. When I get to my desk, I have a single cup of proper coffee from a cafetiere - it's a real treat and I can't give it up. So please don't make me!

Describe your work in a sentence.

Tough, stressful, interesting and creative - but hugely rewarding.

What is your #1 personal success mantra at work?

If I'm the smartest person in the room, then I'm in the wrong room. You become the average of the people you spend most of your time with, so choose your friends wisely.

In your workday, what is the one thing you cannot do without?

I'd love to be able to say something like, I pop out for an hour of meditation, and it's the one thing I can't do without..but I'm afraid to say it's my iPhone. How on earth we managed before these devices, I will never know!

Who's your role model as the perfect professional?

Melanie Duncan in New York - she's a woman I have a lot of admiration for, a true professional who runs several of her own businesses, while helping other women set up and run theirs. Very inspiring!

Your favourite indulgence when you need a break from work?

Having a hot oil aromatherapy full body massage with my favourite masseuse, Sarah Curran. I float home afterwards.

What is the last thing you (usually) do before you go to sleep?

I read for about a half hour, usually something light, like a romantic novel - it sends me off into a deep sleep, which I usually desperately need. That seems to really work for me, otherwise I would find myself tossing and turning, thinking of work. And I can't manage on less than eight hours of sleep, I don't know how others can..let's just say I'm a firm believer in 'strategic sleep'.
