How to get rid of ingrown hair

Recently, I read your remedy to bring ingrown hair out. But is there a way to prevent it from growing inwards? I have this problem on my chin.

Ingrown hair is a sign of poor blood circulation, so stimulating the area with your fingers will help. If the ingrowth is very deep, you can follow this treatment. Take ¼ teaspoon soda bicarbonate, add 1 tablespoon of warm water. Dip a cotton ball on this and apply on the pore. This treatment helps open the pore, following which it is easy to pull out the hair. Steaming the face every alternate day, and scrubbing it later with sugar and honey, will solve the problem.

A pimple left a rather dark spot on my face in a very visible manner. Please tell me how to remove this mark.

Potato works best to lighten the skin. Apply potato juice on the spot daily. Alternatively, you can even dip a small piece of cotton in the juice and tape it on the scar and leave overnight.

I am a 30-year-old male from India. My problem is dandruff. It falls from the scalp onto my shoulders, which becomes quite embarrassing. Do you have a remedy? Please let me know.

Dandruff can be an acute problem. Brush your hair twice daily. Do so by brushing from the nape up, over a dark cloth. Drink 12 glasses of water every day. You could also massage 1 tablespoon of aloe vera mixed with 9 drops of tea tree oil into hair. Leave it overnight and shampoo the next day.

I am a 23-year-old female and an avid reader of your column. For the past three years, I have been getting pimples on my cheeks, even though I do not really have an oily skin. These pimples later turn into dark spots and bumps. My face has also become darker and looks dull. Also, I have whiteheads along with dark patches on my chin and corners of my mouth. Can you suggest some remedies?

Make a paste of 1 tablespoon tomato, and add ½ teaspoon cinnamon, 1 teaspoon honey and ½ teaspoon lemon juice. Mix it with equal portions of corn flour and rice powder and apply the mask all over your face until it dries. Wash your face with warm water first and later cold water.  Do this every day. The improvement will be amazing.
