How did you get into the haircare business?
It all started with scalp problems that I experienced myself in 1990. The scalp issues resulted in hair loss and my dermatologist could not offer sufficient help, so I started doing my own research. In 1992, I opened the first clinic and since then we have been developing new methods, products and technologies.
Do you have any catchphrase that you like to use to inspire colleagues/subordinates?
We have amazing team spirit in the company. The mantra that we all live by is "What can I do for my co-workers today, to care for them, to make their day great and to inspire?" When everyone comes to work with this unselfish attitude, chances for internal problems reduce substantially.
What is one important skill you think every professional should have?
To inspire, be a good planner, be humble, delegate responsibility and show your coworkers that you work hard yourself.
What has been your most challenging experience to date and what did you do to resolve it?
The greatest challenge has been figuring out how to be a great dad while working towards making Harklinikken a leading company in creating innovative, scientifically-proven treatments to reverse hair loss. This was resolved by spending time on finding great people to work with and delegating responsibility.
Who would you consider your role model as the perfect professional?
The late Steve Jobs. His journey has been inspiring.
If you had one free hour in the day to relieve stress, how would you use it?
I would spend time with my wife and children.
Any advice to aspiring professionals in the haircare business?
It is not about being different for a brief moment. It's about staying different.
