How do you typically start your workday?
Illy Espresso, black. No sugar. I can't start my day unless I have that perfect morning coffee. Although I'm usually travelling three out of seven days in a week, I make it a point to go on a short run every morning before I sit down to read my e-mails.
Describe your work in a sentence.
Capturing moments and bottling them as scents, thus creating memories for people that will last them a lifetime.
What is your #1 personal principle/success mantra at work?
Preseverance.Try to be the best version of you. You'll value success better if you know how hard it was to climb the ladder, in the first place.
In your workday, what is the one thing you cannot do without?
Quiet thinking time to plan out the day ahead - and lots of positive energy.
Your most challenging project to date?
Founding Ne'emah Fragrances. When I started my business at the age of 17 with little or no experience in perfumery, I realised that there was no room for error in the industry. From selling my fragrances at a small shop in Kuwait, to retailing at 32 stores across 10 countries, the journey has been incredible.
Who is your role model as the perfect professional?
I haven't met anybody who's perfect, but there are many people who inspire me and who I look up to. My late grandfather is someone I truly admire - he was an ambitious man with an immense zest for life.
Your favourite indulgence when you need a break from work?
I love travelling and spend a lot of my time handpicking raw materials for my fragrances when I do - there's nothing more fulfilling than pursuing my passion while doing what I love. I also love adventure; wakeboarding is a sport that I thoroughly enjoy.
What's your greatest dream?
I aspire to take Ne'emah Fragrances international
and make it a historical brand. I hope that it becomes something coveted, with standalone boutiques in various locations globally.
