Who: Rania Lahori
What: Co-Founder, Prêt To Go
How do you typically start your workday?
I strongly believe that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. So a good night's sleep coupled with a healthy breakfast lays the foundation for the day. Most often, I end up having something from Prêt To Go itself.
Describe your work in a sentence.
I work in a dynamic F&B environment, developing a concept I'm extremely passionate about.
What is your #1 personal principle/success mantra at work?
I encourage a work culture where tasks are communicated to people, and not assigned to them. It has to be a team effort and in a service-orientated environment, each task is a collaborative process. People need to be a part of the success story. As a company, we endeavour to provide the tools to help our team achieve their goals. On any given day, you're likely to hear me say: "Let's get this done."
In your workday, what is the one thing you cannot do without?
Checking up on my kids. I may not be around them at all times due to work matters, but it's comforting to know what they're up to.
Most challenging project to date?
Founding Prêt To Go. It was a dream that my husband and I had. We wanted perfection in every detail, big or small. We made a conscious decision to give the freshness of our offerings more importance than revenue and returns.
Who's your role model as the perfect professional?
My mother. I grew up watching her strike the perfect balance between her personal and professional life. We had no domestic help either, and it was inspiring to watch her go about her day almost like a superhuman.
Your favourite indulgence when you need a break from work?
Spending quality time with my kids, without any distractions. Their energy rubs off on me no matter how exhausted I am, and I can bounce back to work with new energy.
What is your greatest dream, professionally?
Right now, it would be developing the Prêt To Go network around Dubai, so every locality has access to wholesome, delicious food that's freshly made.
