How do you typically start your workday?
I start the day by enjoying an espresso with my wife, talking about my day, and then making plans to see her later in the evening.
Describe your work in a sentence.
Depending on the day, I either operate, see patients, or host the Doctors TV Show.
What is your favourite thing about your job?
What I like best is that no two days are ever the same. There's always a new challenge around the corner.
What has been your most challenging experience to date and how did you resolve it?
Honestly, my biggest challenge is managing my time, schedule and focus in order to address my different activities.
What advice would you give your younger self, if you could?
Enjoy the voyage. Don't be in a rush. Everything will fall into place and all you need is patience. Also, don't be too hard on yourself.
How do you maintain a work:life balance?
I try my best to be organised and make time for family, friends and myself. I think it's important for us all to understand and then do what makes us happy and relaxed. We need to be able to laugh and not take ourselves too seriously!
Any advice for youngsters just getting into the professional arena?
Find your passion and embrace it. There is no quick fix. Don't be in a rush, hard work and patience will get you there.
What would you say is your greatest dream, professionally?
That would be to leave behind a legacy of my work, be it what I've learned through surgery or my advice to patients and viewers.
