11 Omani pilgrims killed as bus collides with truck on Saudi highway

As many as 11 Omani nationals were killed and 34 others were injured when the bus they were travelling in had a head-on collision with a truck on Riyadh-Al Ehasa highway in Saudi Arabia early today morning.

According to media sources, the Omanis were returning home after performing Umrah in Mecca, when the bus crashed into a truck coming from the opposite direction.

The bodies of the 11 people were taken to a hospital morgue, while the injured were admitted for intensive care unit for treatment.

Police are investigating the incident.
