Microsoft's focus on India is to empower every citizen and organisation so that they can perform better than their potential and achieve more for themselves and the country, the US giant's chief executive Satya Nadella said.
On his recent visit to India, Satya Nadella met the Indian Prime Minister, entrepreneurs and various government officials. As reported by The Mashable, among the young developers who Nadella met was also an eight-year-old boy who created a game trying to balance economic growth with environmental sustainability.
According to reports , Mumbai-based student, Medansh Mehta, presented his app "Let There Be Light" during a meeting between Nadella and student developers from India. The boy left Nadella so impressed that the Microsoft CEO later mentioned him in a keynote speech.
"I met an eight-year-old, and this is perhaps the time where I felt the most inadequate. And, the eight-year-old's dream is to create a society that knows how to balance economic growth with environmental sustainability. This is the goal he has and then he translated that vision, that goal, into a novel game that he's built."His game is called 'Let there be light' and it focuses on balancing the environment along with industrial development and the environment. Players have to build cities by creating factories and farms, but also focus on the environment and air quality. There are additional points for using renewable energy like solar and wind energy.
You are already ambitious beyond being the next CEO. The game has the sensibility that all of us need."Following Nadella's remarks in his keynote, Mehta was interviewed by CNBC about his game and his ambitions. In the interview, Mehta revealed he asked Nadella how he could have his job one day. Nadella responded "You are already ambitious beyond being the next CEO. The game has the sensibility that all of us need."
