Japanese cuisine has been somewhat of a trendsetter in Dubai and the city's crème-de-la-crème are often spotted having a great time at one of the many restaurants in town that offer more than just sushi. If you are craving for a traditional Japanese meal or looking for something more contemporary, head to any of these restaurants to satiate your appetite.
Sho Cho
Party people will absolutely love this joint that offers exquisite dishes along with a vibrant lounge with resident DJ's spinning the latest tunes. Its must-try dishes include the Rock Shrimp Tempura in a delightful creamy chilli and garlic sauce, the fresh Salmon Tataki and the incredible Sushi Platter to share. If you are looking for a no frills meal, Sushi Counter offers a number of dishes that are sure to satisfy your taste buds. Zuma
One of Dubai's most popular fine dining restaurants, a meal at Zuma is a one-of-a-kind culinary experience. Their business lunch is quite popular and offers a delectable Miso Soup, plus a choice of a main dish and two starters that include options such as Prawn and Black Cod Gyoza and the delightful Sweet Corn Tempura, among others. The restaurant boasts of stunning contemporary glass and wooden interiors and follows the Japanese izakaya style of dining, where food is served to share.

 Toko
Known to offer modern Japanese fare, the restaurant serves up some of the most tantalising dishes in town. It features an open kitchen where you can see chefs slicing fish and getting the dishes ready for a unique gastronomic experience. The international chain offers the same signature hospitality it is renowned for the world over along with a varied menu. Some of the highlights include their melt-in-the-mouth Black Cod and the delicious Yellowtail Sashimi. Also, end the meal on a sweet note with the Nobu Cheesecake or their Mochi ice cream that are must-haves. Its stellar location further adds to the dining experience and is sure to make for a memorable night out. But make sure you reserve a place, as the waiting time can sometimes extend up to two months.
