Several helpline numbers were launched by the Consulate General of India in Dubai to assist the families of those who travelled on the ill-fated flight that crashed in Kozhikode on Friday, August 7.
Neeraj Agarwal, Consul - Press, Information and Culture, told Khaleej Times: "We got requests from 17 individuals who wished to travel to Kozhikode to be with their family members."
"Out of the 17, seven tickets were issued by Air India to Kochi and Kannur. The remaining 10 chose to travel on flydubai and Emirates airlines," said Agarwal.
On Saturday, Indian Ambassador to the UAE Pavan Kapoor had announced the missions are assisting the next of kin and friends of the deceased to travel to India.
