Chairman of the Royal Charity Organisation (RCO), Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, has been tasked with the job to implement the instructions.
Following the Royal directives, RCO Secretary-General Dr Mustafa Al Sayad met the Representative of the UNRWA Commissioner-General, Peter Ford, and was assured about the readiness of the centre to receive and treat those injured as a result of the brutal Israeli airstrikes on the Gaza Strip.
In this regard, Peter Form affirmed that the Bahrain heath centre has not been attacked during the raids and that it is currently playing an essential role in treating patients and alleviating the sufferings of the local inhabitants. He also said that all affiliates of the Bahrain School are safe and have not been affected by the Israeli strikes, conveying their sincere greetings and appreciation to the Kingdom for establishing such a vital project near their houses to enable them to continue their studies.
The Commander of King Hamad University Hospital (KHUH), Major-General Dr Shaikh Salman bin Attiyattallah Al Khalifa, has announced that the KHUH Ophthalmology Department has successfully performed more than 120 myopia (near sightedness) correction surgical (RELAX) procedures using the VIMTO-II-LASER device.
Dr Shaikh Salman bin Attiyattallah pointed out that the latest technology increases the speed of treating myopia .
Dr Moumin Al Reefi, consultant ophthalmologist, said that such operations take only 10 minutes to perform teh surgery.
A scientific research paper was presented regarding details of this advanced technology, currently adopted by the KHUH, to the Ophthalmic Surgeons Annual Conference early this month in Milan, Italy, and was acclaimed by participating doctors.
Jobs4Bahrainis.com — the pioneering employment website- has announced the conclusion of a key partnership agreement with Tamkeen which will boost employment chances for qualified Bahrainis.
As per the terms of the new agreement, Tamkeen will fully bear the costs of using the website by institutions and job-seekers.
Employers will be able to post their advertisements on vacancies free of charge and job-seekers will be able to download their data and CVs free of charge, too.
The interactive website was launched in 2010 to become the first initiative of its kind in the private sector. It provides a platform for job-seekers to communicate with employers in Bahrain. Currently, the website hosts 12,300 CVs which have benefited more than 600 employers so far.
Bahrain will host the 25th Arab Writers’ General Assembly under theme “Word for the sake of Humankind” with participation anticipated from a large number of members of the of Arab writers’ guilds in December.
The chief of Bahraini Writers’ Guild, Poet Ebrahim Bu Hindi, said that the Arab Writers’ Congress conducts similar assembly meetings every three years in order to elect its secretary-general and members of the general-secretariat as well as to conduct its poetry festival’s and associated seminars.
