Some 30 protesters entered the building, which houses a branch of Greece’s second largest lender Eurobank on the ground floor. They were driven out by riot police who were able to stop them from burning the offices, the witnesses said.

The building stands on the square outside parliament where hundreds of masked, stone-throwing demonstrators clashed with police for several hours on Wednesday.
