Indrani responds to treatment, say doctors

The condition of Indrani Mukerjea, prime accused in the murder case of her daughter Sheena Bora, had stabilised on Saturday, a day after she was rushed to the JJ hospital following an apparent case of drug overdose.
A Maharashtra government spokesman confirmed on Saturday that Indrani's condition had stabilised, though she was in a semi-conscious state for much of the day. According to police sources, Indrani went into a depression at the Arthur Road jail here after she was informed about the death of her mother, Durga, in Guwahati on Thursday. She asked for some medication and was given anti-sedatives. She had also been taking some anti-epilepsy drugs for the past fortnight. The police suspect she might have collected the medicines and consumed them at one go leading to an overdose.
