Islamabad and northern areas jolted by strong earthquake

According to the US geological Survey the earthquake measured 5.4 on the Richter scale and had epicentre 100km north-north east of Islamabad at a depth of 24.2km. The quake was strong enough to prompt many people to evacuate their homes in panic.
