Addressing party workers in Nowshera, Munawar said peace could be restored in the country through dialogue. If there are any hurdles, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif must make a clear policy statement in the parliament to take the elected representatives of the people into confidence.

He said there are indications that the Nawaz Sharif government has conceded to hostile statements urging his government to adopt the military route and launch operations which he claimed would be disastrous in humanitarian terms.

The JI chief urged the prime minister to seek help from Afghan Taleban supreme leader Mullah Mohammed Omar for restoration of peace.

“The prime minister should send a delegation to Mullah Omar and seek his help for the restoration of peace in Pakistan,” he suggested while addressing party workers at the JI provincial secretariat here on Sunday.

He further proposed that Sharif should arrange a joint meeting of the two negotiation committees to pave the way for peace in the Federally Administered Tribal Areas.

He said that the military leadership could also be included in the talks. Prof Mohammed Ibrahim and other leaders of the party were also present on the occasion, said a Press release.
