Pakistan-based JS Bank has officially opened its first branch outside home country in Bahrain, targeting the GCC and eventually the wider Middle East and North Africa (Mena) regions.
The announcement follows the awarding of a wholesale conventional banking licence to JS Bank by the Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB) last year. As the eighth licenced Pakistani wholesale bank in Bahrain, it will serve regional businesses with interests in Pakistan, non-resident Pakistani expatriates, other Pakistani banks without overseas branches and Pakistani government entities.
Its service offerings include trade finance, treasury, institutional banking, corporate banking, private banking and wealth management.
American Women Association team visits Dragon City
Diyar Al Muharraq, one of the biggest urban development companies in Bahrain, welcomed a visiting delegation from the American Women Association, last month.
Upon arrival, the 25 member visiting delegation was welcomed by officials from Diyar Al Muharraq as well as Chinamex, who accompanied the delegation on an informative tour of the recently opened Dragon City.
Spread over a total land area of 115,000 square meters, Dragon City offers unique wholesale and retail opportunities to local consumers, trade customers and tourists. Dragon City encompasses Dragon Mall and a themed "Asian Dining Village." The Mall Design is infused with Chinese architectural and cultural aspects incorporating over 360 individual retail and wholesale stores and additionally, a 4,500 square meter area designated for warehouses.
Health minister inaugurates Four Seasons hotel
Minister of Health Faeqa bint Saeed AlSaleh has inaugurated the Kingdom's very first hotel clinic at Four Seasons Hotel Bahrain Bay at an exclusive ribbon-cutting ceremony.
She was the guest of honor at the ceremony, which was hosted jointly by Greg Pirkle, general manager, Four Seasons hotel Bahrain Bay, in the company of Dr Mariam Adhbi Al Jalahma, executive head of National Health Regulatory Authority, as well as dignitaries and leading members of the local medical community.
"I am impressed to see that the management of Four Seasons Hotel Bahrain Bay handles the health of its employees with the utmost importance. I am confident that the new clinic will provide a very high level of medical service to all the Four Seasons staff," the minister said.
Open six days a week, eight hours daily, the in-house clinic is headed by Dr Mohammed Imran general practitioner, Al Hilal hospital Bahrain.
Al Hawaj awards star employees
Two sales staff were Al Hawaj's Star of the Month winners for November and December 2015. They both received a certificate of appreciation, a star of the month badge, cash prize, and a dinner voucher for two handed by the Managing Director, Jawad Y. Al Hawaj; together with General Manager Abdul Wahab Al Hawaj, Operations Manager Shyam Narayanan, and other officials.
Karen M. Ferrer is November 2015's star of the month. She works as a sales assistant at Al Hawaj's Swarovski shop in Seef Mall. Rachel A. Dayao is a promoter under the distribution department. They were awarded for their outstanding sales performance, good attendance records, and dedication to their jobs.
The Star of the Month is a monthly initiative of Al Hawaj in recognition of exemplary employees in its Retail Division.
