The three-year-long chase for Kerala's most wanted burglar ended on Tuesday with the police arresting Aadu Anony who went into hiding after stabbing a policeman to death in June 2012.
A crime squad nabbed the 50-year-old criminal, who carries a cash award of Rs100,000 on his head, from Gopalapuram near Chittur in Palghat district when he came to see his son. The police caught him by tracking a phone call he made to his son.
Antony, who was brought to district quarters, has reportedly confessed to the crime. A police team from Quilon later took him to Paripally, where he stabbed constable-cum-driver Maniyan Pillai, and sub-inspector Joy during a vehicle checking.
Antony, who was into stealing electronic goods, is said to be involved in more than 200 cases pertaining to house break and marriage frauds. He had trapped around two dozen women in marriages over a period.
