A Russian man accidentally killed himself after a live grenade in his hand exploded. Alexander 'Sasha' Chechik, the 26-year-old victim from Krasnodar region, also shared with friends pictures of him holding a live grenade minutes before it detonated, leaving him dead.
According to reports in Daily Mail, the man removed the pin out of the grenade to take pictures sitting in his car and also exchanged text messages with his friend before the explosion.
"Where are you? Are you OK?" a friend messaged him. Alexander replied: "Depends on what OK is in your understanding?"
After his friend saw the picture, he cautioned Alexander of the possible danger and said, "Listen, don't do stupid things. Where are you?"
Moments later the grenade exploded. Police stated that Alexander did not intend to take his own life and categorized his death as an accident.
