A married man, who was having an affair with his school friend, murdered his wife and tried to cover it up taking cue from Malayalam language crime thriller 'Drishyam'.
The man from India's Tamil Nadu tried to hoodwink police by killing his wife in Thiruvananthapuram which is in Kerala, disposing her dead body in Tamil Nadu and leaving her phone on a long-distance train.
The man identified as Premkumar, a hotel manager, and a woman named Sunitha, were both schoolmates. They planned to remove Premkumar's wife Vidya out of their way and killed her at a rented house in Kerala. Following the murder, the duo disposed off her body at remote place in the state of in Tamil Nadu.
Later, Premkumar cleverly approached police alleging his wife was missing. But mobile phone records revealed he was at the same location from where his wife had disappeared. Cornered from all sides, Premkumar admitted to killing his wife through a WhatsApp message he sent to the investigator. He has been remanded in judicial custody for 14 days, reported The Hindu.
