Nawaz Sharif leaves for London for medical check-up

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday left for London by special plane for a medical check-up which he had been putting off for a while due to official responsibilities, according to a spokesman of the PM House.
On way Sharif will stop over in Moscow for nearly eight hours "for refuelling", said the spokesman discounting speculations about the purpose of the prolonged stopover.
The prime minister is accompanied by his spouse Kulsoom Nawaz and daughter Maryam Nawaz besides routine security and personal staff.
Prior to his departure, the premier held a meeting which was attended by senior ministers including Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, Punjab Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif and Federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar.
During the meeting he gave special directions to the chief secretary and principal secretary, sources said.
During his absence state affairs will be taken care of by Finance Minister Ishaq Dar.
